Mali and Niger announced that they would sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine in protest against the Ukrainian government's recent support for terrorist activities in Africa.

The Malian government revealed on August 4 that the Ukrainian military intervened in the battle between the Malian government forces and terrorist organizations in the northern region at the end of July, causing a large number of casualties.

The Malian government announced that Mali would immediately sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine on the grounds that Ukraine violated Mali's sovereignty. The Malian government condemned Ukraine's actions as going beyond the scope of interference, being a clear aggression against Mali and supporting international terrorism.

A spokesman for the Niger government also condemned Ukraine's conspiracy to support terrorism, expressed solidarity with the Malian government and people, and publicly announced that Niger would sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine, emphasizing that the move would take effect immediately.

He called on the UN Security Council to take measures against Ukraine's aggression.
